Why is the winchester 9422 so expensive.

The Classic came with a pistol grip butt stock and steel cresent butt plate. Mine dates to about '85 or '86. This variation of the 9422 was only made for about 2 1/2 years or so. When cleaning the bore with the rifle fully assembled, open the action and turn the gun so the ejection port on the right side of the receiver is down to prevent the bore cleaner from running into the action. 1. The Winchester site lists two companies which service the 9422s. Maybe that is just as good but it does show how far Winchester has rolled back form the glorious days of the 9422. And despite the fact that WInchester seems to think their is no sense of them making a new 9422 the two caliber lever actions that get shot the most is .22LR and ..22 ...
