_{The Western Maryland Food Bank (WMFB) was established in July 1983 to help bring additional food into the tri-state area to assist several organizations to. stretch their dollars. Each Pantry on the Go event provides enough produce and/or non-perishable foods to feed about 200 families on average, and sometimes up to 600 families in a single day. The Maryland Food Bank’s Strategic Plan—which we call MFB 3.0—is our framework for working smarter, more efficiently, and with renewed energy to end hunger for more Marylanders by addressing not just food insecurity, but its systemic, root-level causes that keep up to two million of our neighbors from accessing the food they need.
Marylanders should not have to face food-insecurity in their later years due to circumstances like inconsistent income, limited mobility, and poor health.
