Overall it came out pretty good for my first attempt at dipping, but there are many pitfalls. It took more paint to cover than anticipated (that includes the clear), which is a big problem to have in the middle of the job. Little mistakes like drips are very difficult to fix (unlike regular paint that you can sand and correct).
On the show, it shows them making it. This show seems more like it's 100% fake. It's hard to imagine you'd let someone know made 55k on a 100k deal publicly on your own show, that's a huge rip off. I don't know what year that C3, but it was potentially a Malaise era C3; the least powerful and least reliable Corvette.
Nonetheless, Gotham garage is a joke of a company and show. Their work is terrible and I honestly think the producers pay people to "buy" these cars. I remember last season cars looked undone. You can fix that after the fact by cutting down the clear coat. Of course, now you've cut down some of the clear coat!
