Later model IDIs have plugs pressed into the heads here, so it won't leak even without the valley pan gasket. Not sure on what exact year/serial that they switched to plugging those holes.Dont really need any head work, they flow better than PSD heads. The head bolts or studs are a weak point, the heads will lift above 10 or 12 psi in short order. I take the seal off the filter an rub completly with fresh oil an stick oring back on filter inside of the grooves an screw it on. Actually, it seems that the zf5 uses a bell housing adapter to connect to the IDI, but the zf6 doesn't use one to connect to the powerstroke. I'll see if I can't dig up a pic. The bell housing bolt patterns are the same.
