The rooms were very nice, well fitted-out, and comfortable. Bathrooms were huge, and balconies had a great view of Waikiki beach. Ali'i has its own private pool and bar where we spent a lot of our time, away from the hordes. According to Google Maps public transportation option, anywhere between 1.5 to 2 hours. Go to Google Maps directions, pick Hilton Hawaiian Village as starting point and Kualoa Ranch as destination, and pick the bus symbol. It will tell you what bus number (s) to take and the times. Outdoor pay lot near the Marina/HHV lagoon 10hr overnight allowed at 1or 2 dollars an hour.Instead we bought an umbrella from a shop in Waikiki for $17 which we used, rather than spending $35 a day hiring an umbrella! The main Waikiki strip is a short 15/20 minute walk away and I would definitely recommend going out of the hotel complex.
